Thanks so much for taking a moment to look over this website dedicated to helping the fight against illiteracy all over the world. It's truly unfortunate that in the 21st century, there are children in all nations unable to have proper access to books -- even in the United States.
I've compiled a list of several organizations (titles are hyperlinked below) that strive to overcome the deleterious effects of illiteracy on globalization and development around the world. Education is one of the most important factors needed to advance civilization, and reading is one of its most important facets. I know that without books, I would be in a very different place in my life right now.
The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer has had such an amazing impact on bringing people from all over the world together to celebrate its memorable characters and its unforgettable story. If you could share one of these books with a less fortunate child in a different part of the world, would you not leap at the chance?
I have a special place in my heart for the organization known as Books for Africa. This organization is able to provide a book to a child in Africa for as small a donation as 50 cents (US).
Please take a moment to check these non-profit organizations out. If you have books you could donate, I strongly encourage you to do so, and if you have a few extra dollars lying around (which I know is tough in this economy!) that would be amazing.
If you came to this site to read my Fanfiction, thanks so much for your support. As I mentioned at the top, the chapter links can be found on the left-hand side of this web page under broad headings prefaced by Roman numerals.
Thanks so much again for your time.
